Modern Garden Design with Garden Room
This garden design in Bramhall is for a customer who has renovated their home and now wants to make use of their outdoor space. The existing boundary fence was not square with the house so this created potential awkward areas. Some existing landscaping had been done which the client was keen to utilise. Not being overlooked by surrounding houses was also an important consideration for the design solution.
The Creative Gardens & Driveways team was tasked with designing the whole space, incorporating it into the renovation of the house and working around a garden gym building that the customer was keen to have in the garden.
Garden Design Solution
For this garden design we worked with the existing paving and created areas that worked from various viewpoints from the house as well as the garden. As the garden could be seen from all sides of the house it was key to make use of all the space and incorporate the design throughout.
We created various areas of interest in the garden that included a private gravel garden with gym, a comfier seating area enclosed within a fabricated steel pergola incorporating a BBQ area, a storage utility area as well as designing the front of the house and driveway space to make it more integrated, whilst still working alongside the previous landscaping works.
Key Design Features
The design created multiple spaces that all integrated together into one wholesome design solution. The key features of this garden included:
- Existing awkward fence painted black to allow colourful planting in front
- Indian sandstone paving pathways to integrate existing landscaping with new
- Gravel areas to soften the space but compliment other hard landscaping materials
- Improved utility area and storage space, disguised with timber screening
- Timber screening panels to add interest to the space and use as a back drop for key features
- Water features to add focal points and sound into the garden
- A steel pergola to form a canopy, offering screening and shelter in seating areas
- Mature planting to screen overlooking properties and provide privacy
- An integrated front garden incorporating design features that link to the rear
The Finished Result
The design has integrated both front and rear garden spaces and allowed the whole garden to be used from all areas. The space feels private, practical and mature, providing enjoyment for many years to come.
